Arvéla – a trading name of Cascade Legal Ltd
Last updated: April 2026

The short version. You are buying from Cascade Legal Ltd, which trades as Arvéla. Our products are educational guides and planning tools, not personal legal advice. Where you choose to instruct a solicitor, that service is provided separately by Carbon Law Partners LLP under Carbon's own engagement terms.

1. About these terms

These are the terms of sale and use for arvela.uk and for the products sold through it. By purchasing, downloading, or using an Arvéla product, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not purchase.

Words like "we," "our," and "us" refer to Cascade Legal Ltd trading as Arvéla. Words like "you" and "your" refer to the person buying or using an Arvéla product.

2. Who we are

Arvéla is a trading name of Cascade Legal Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 08645164), with registered office at 8 Eastway, Sale, Cheshire, M33 4DX.

Cascade Legal Ltd is the seller of Arvéla products, the data controller for any personal data collected in the purchase flow, and the owner of all Arvéla content, tools, and brand.

Cascade Legal Ltd is not an SRA-regulated firm and does not provide legal services. Where you choose to engage professional legal services after using Arvéla, those services are delivered by Carbon Law Partners LLP, part of CLP Group Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 538375). Carbon's engagement is governed by Carbon's own client terms, which will be provided to you at the point of instruction.

You can contact us at hello@arvela.uk.

3. What we provide

Arvéla offers the following products and services:

Our products are educational and planning. They are not, and are not a substitute for, personal legal, tax, or financial advice. Where you need advice tailored to your circumstances, you should instruct a qualified solicitor or other regulated adviser.

4. Price and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Unless stated otherwise, prices are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable.

Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe, Inc. We do not see or store your payment card details. Stripe processes payments under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

For subscriptions, the first payment is taken at the point of purchase. Subsequent payments are taken automatically on each anniversary unless you cancel. We will email you a reminder before each renewal.

5. Your licence to use our content

When you buy a guide, we grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to read, use, and print the guide for your own private, non-commercial purposes.

Each guide copy is personalised with your name and a unique reference code, and may include hidden identifiers that distinguish your copy from any other. Redistributing, re-sharing, uploading, or reselling a guide is a breach of these terms and of the licence we grant. Where we identify redistribution, we reserve the right to pursue the account holder associated with the original purchase.

All intellectual property in the guides, the Companion, Probate Pro, the diagnostic tools, the website, and the Arvéla brand remains with Cascade Legal Ltd at all times.

6. Companion subscriptions

Companion subscriptions are billed annually in advance.

You can cancel at any time through your account page or by emailing hello@arvela.uk. Cancellation stops future renewals, but it does not refund the current period. You retain access for the remainder of the year you have paid for.

If we materially change the Companion's functionality or pricing, we will give you at least 30 days' notice. If the change is to your disadvantage, you may cancel with a pro-rata refund of any unused portion.

7. Your cooling-off right and cancellation of digital content

As a consumer buying digital content, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

However, if you ask us to supply the digital content before the 14 days expire (for example, by clicking the download link in your confirmation email, or by accessing the Companion) you lose the right to cancel that purchase under Regulation 37(1). By clicking "Download" or otherwise accessing the content, you expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you are giving up your right to cancel.

This is a standard feature of digital-goods pricing. Your statutory rights in respect of faulty or defective digital content under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this waiver.

Full details are in our Refund Policy.

8. Acceptable use

When using Arvéla products and the website, you agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached. Where we do so in connection with an active subscription, we will refund a pro-rata amount for unused time, except where the breach involves redistribution or fraud.

9. Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care in preparing and maintaining our content. We test our tools, edit our guides, and keep them up to date.

We do not warrant that every fact remains current at the moment you read it. Tax rules, allowances, thresholds, and case law all change. Where you rely on specific numbers or rules for an actual decision, you should check them against current sources or with a qualified adviser.

We do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you have paid to us for the product that gave rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Because our products are educational rather than advisory, we are not liable for the outcomes of decisions you make on the basis of them. If you want advice that carries professional responsibility for the outcome, you should instruct a solicitor or other regulated adviser.

10. Data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By purchasing, you accept the Privacy Policy as it applies to the purchase flow and any subsequent delivery, support, and communications connected with your purchase.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For subscriptions, we will give you at least 30 days' notice of any material change and you may cancel if the change is to your disadvantage. For one-off products, changes take effect from the date they are posted on arvela.uk and apply to purchases made after that date.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally through correspondence with hello@arvela.uk, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
